mom + abby night

Tonight Josh is at a meeting, so Abby and I spent the evening together. After I fed Abby her dinner (chicken noodle with veggies, banana apple strawberry, and rice cereal - and of course her bottle) we packed up and went to McDonalds (we have one up here on Redmond Ridge now - YES!). I tried the new Southwest salad - and I must say, it was really good. You definitely need to try it. I will for sure get it again. Abby sat right next to me in a high chair and ate her little puff snacks and looked at all the people around. She is such a good girl. When we got home, I put Abby in her jammies and we played for a while. It's fun to sit and play with her - she's grown up so much! At bedtime, we read a couple of Bible stories, I said her prayers, and then I sat in the glider chair and sang to her. She laid her little head on my shoulder and was still while I sang "Jesus loves the little children" to her. Honestly, I think that is my favorite part of my day today. That little girl has totally stolen my heart. When I'm having a bad day, or something is hard or stressful, I just think about that little girl or look into her beautiful blue eyes and I feel better. She is a blessing. She is an amazing daughter, but also a gift from God for our family. I love being Abby's mom, and tonight was perfect.
